Chief Financial Officer
Donna has served in the family business since 1976 when she was a junior in high school. Donna completed a work study program and attended school part time while working in the family business. She completed her associate degree in accounting after high school.
Along with her siblings, Donna is co-owner of Greenwood Plastics, including local businesses such as Trigard Vaults, Trigard Memorials, Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Sunset Memorial Park and Camino Del Sol Chapel in Arizona.
Donna has always liked math and numbers so it is only natural that she is Chief Financial Officer and oversees the accounting side of the businesses.
Donna currently has two daughters working in the family business who represent the fourth generation of the Darby family and carry on their passion for the profession.
She is a past board member of the northwest region of Old National Bank and currently on the social committee for the Champaign Center Partnership, an active member of the Executive Club of Champaign County and is excited to be a part of launching a new women’s group, WE-Networkingcc in Champaign County. She is also a dedicated member of First Christian Church. After spending most of her life in the Danville community, she recently moved to Mahomet, Illinois after opening Sunset’s Champaign Chapel to be part of the community in which they serve.
As part of the Darby family, Donna is passionate about giving back to the community through free public community events, scholarships or simply caring for each and every family who impacts the funeral homes.
In addition to her dedication to our industry and community Donna is a colts/Illini fan, shoe collector, likes to enjoy time out by the pool and, of course, being the best “Nana” to her 5 grandchildren.
